"THANKS BILLY!

With just three weeks before setting sail from Falmouth to complete our circumnavigation we decided to replace the ageing autopilot. After asking around the local community, Billy from BT MARINE, was recommended as being efficient and reasonably priced.

I contacted him without hesitation; time was of the essence if we were to get the pilot fitted and commissioned without sacrificing our sailing date. He informed us at the time that he wasn't able to fit the pilot within the three weeks because of his heavy work commitments. His honesty was much appreciated as we didn’t wish to be waiting unnecessarily. Noel informed him that he could fit it himself. Consequently we received the pilot within two days and Noel quickly had it in place.

Throughout the process Billy was available for support and guidance and answered all queries immediately, at times coming down to the boatyard on his way home from work. Then in his own time he came out to commission the pilot and check all fittings and settings, and to perform seatrials.

 He was at all times professional, honest and prompt.

On top of that he joined the scheme that enabled us to procure a VAT refund, a huge saving which he duly paid into our bank account. This proved to be time consuming and an added burden to his busy workload. Billy though worked through it without complaint and kept his sense of humour.

The follow up service provided was second to none. After leaving, and on approach to Gibraltar, we discovered a problem with the pump which Billy sorted effectively and efficiently by contacting the manufacturers who then sent us a replacement.

 I would like to take this opportunity to thank Billy of BT MARINE for the excellent all round service, for his support, professionalism but most of all his honesty and integrity. We did not become one of those customers ‘out of sight, out of mind’.

As we sail off into the blue we now know we have a wonderful third man on board which we can rely on and know that should any other problems arise Billy will be there for us."
